A daily nanny (also referred to as a live-out nanny) is a person - usually a female, who comes to the family’s house during the day and performs her childcare duties, but goes back to her own accommodation in the evenings. Daily nanny provided by Royal Nannies will have a minimum of 5 years childcare experience, many of them also hold suitable childcare qualifications. Our daily nannies are experienced to care for children of any age, including newborns. They can be required to have sole charge of the children, where both parents are working away from home, or have shared charge, where they are required to work alongside a parent or another nanny. Daily nanny may also be asked to baby-sit in the evening (outside her standard working hours) providing her with sufficient notice. Her babysitting services are usually paid extra and must be discussed and agreed before employment commencement.
Salary of a daily live out nanny will depend upon age, experience, and the duties involved.
Daily nannies in London with at least 5 years of childcare experience typically expect salaries ranging from £20 to £25+ gross per hour (with £11.44 being the current national minimum wage) for live-out roles. Rates are higher for nannies specializing in special needs care or working with multiple children. Each position is individually negotiated, and more experienced or highly qualified nannies may command higher salaries. Rates depend on hours required and the nanny’s experience and qualifications.
For a live-out nanny in Central London working 50-60 hours per week, expects salary of £45,000 and £70,000 gross per year for a 50-60 hour workweek with up to two children.
