Detailed description of the job

A warm, professional family based in Dulwich is looking to appoint an experienced Weekend Rota Nanny to join them on an every-other-weekend basis. The role will run from Saturday at 8:30am through to Monday at 8:30am and will involve sole-charge care of two children aged 7 and 4.

The family employs a long-term, full-time nanny during the week and is now seeking a reliable and committed weekend nanny to ensure continuity, structure, and engaging care at weekends.

The children
Girl, turning 7 in May – bright, energetic, and particularly enjoys creative play.
Boy, 4 years old – affectionate and playful, with a strong interest in trucks, dinosaurs, and numbers. One child is showing mild signs of ADHD, therefore experience or qualifications in SEN would be highly advantageous.

Both children are happy, loving, and respond very well to routine, clear boundaries, and stimulating activities.

Key responsibilities:
Sole-charge care during rota weekends
Managing morning and evening routines, meals, and bath and bedtime
Preparing nutritious vegetarian meals
Planning age-appropriate indoor and outdoor activities
Occasional school drop-off or collection from the daughter’s Central London school (straightforward via Victoria line)
All standard nursery duties, including tidying children’s areas, toys, and clothing
Supporting homework and encouraging good manners and positive structure
Assisting with ongoing toilet training for the younger child
Light household support, such as keeping the kitchen tidy

Candidate requirements
Proven experience caring for children of similar ages
Energetic, warm, and proactive, with strong organisational skills
Excellent, checkable references
Paediatric First Aid and an Enhanced DBS strongly preferred
A driving licence is not required; all routes are easily accessible, though parking is available
Flexible, confident, and comfortable working alongside hands-on parents in a busy household

Accommodation and salary
£300 per day (£600 per weekend)
Private bedroom and bathroom provided on working weekends
Live-out option available for suitable local candidates
The family strongly prefers candidates who do not work full-time during the week and who may occasionally be available on Fridays if required

Additional information
Parents are often at home on weekends but require a nanny who can confidently take full charge when needed. There may also be opportunities for additional hours during school holidays or family travel. This position would suit a dependable, adaptable nanny who enjoys working in a supportive, family-oriented environment and who can balance clear structure with warmth and fun.
