Detailed description of the job

A welcoming family based in Mirage City, Cairo is seeking a highly experienced English native-speaking Governess with a background in Occupational Therapy (OT) to support their 5½-year-old son.

Role Details:

• Location: Mirage City, Cairo, Egypt

• Child: Boy, 5½ years old

• Schedule: After school support, typically 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm (flexibility is needed -  depending on extracurricular activities)

• Accommodation: Provided

• Contract: Permanent position

• Travel: Twice yearly with the family to support continuity of the child’s OT program

• Start Date: As soon as possible

Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored after-school care and educational support to the boy, reinforcing his Occupational Therapy program

• Incorporate OT strategies into everyday routines and play-based learning

• Offer guidance, structure, and encouragement to foster independence and confidence

• Ensure a nurturing, stimulating, and safe environment

Candidate Requirements:

• Native English speaker

• Strong background in Occupational Therapy, ideally with direct experience supporting children aged 5+

• Previous experience as a governess, educator, or childcare professional in a private household is highly desirable

• Ability and willingness to travel internationally with the family

• Warm, professional, and adaptable personality

Salary:
Competitive and in line with market rates for Governess roles with OT experience (to be discussed with shortlisted candidates).
