Live-in Governess – Tashkent, Uzbekistan

A warm and welcoming family in Tashkent is seeking an experienced, English-speaking governess for their two delightful daughters aged 7y and 8y. The girls are cheerful, well-mannered, and full of positive energy. They enjoy swimming, sport activities, horse riding, and creative activities and are very much typical girly girls who thrive with kind, engaging guidance.

Both children attend the British International School in Tashkent. They currently have a basic level of English and the family’s priority is to help them progress confidently to a strong conversational level through daily immersion, structured support, and fun, play-based learning.

The role is live-in, with excellent private accommodation provided: a separate one-bedroom apartment located close to the family’s residence. The household is fully staffed, allowing the governess to focus solely on the children’s education, development, and wellbeing.

Working hours are primarily after school, approximately 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm (until bedtime), plus a fun, engaging day on Saturday. One full day off is provided each week.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting homework, school projects, and preparation for educational tests

• Actively improving the girls’ English through conversation, games, and structured activities

• Creating a stimulating balance of learning and play

• Encouraging good manners, independence, and confidence

• Planning age-appropriate, enjoyable activities aligned with the children’s interests

The ideal candidate will be a qualified or highly experienced governess who is fluent in English and also speaks another international language at a high level. She should be smiley, energetic, friendly, and naturally respectful, with a genuine passion for education and child development. Creativity, adaptability, and a positive attitude are essential.

There are no pets in the household.
