Position: Family Assistant / Companion (Summer Role)
A private client is seeking a proactive and adaptable Family Assistant to support her and her 10-year-old son over the summer. As the child is older, this is not a traditional nanny role, but rather a supportive, hands-on position focused on companionship, organisation, and general assistance.
Dates:
15 June – 28 August
Locations:
London, Switzerland, Italy (potential cruise), and the USA (flexible itinerary, subject to change)
Accommodation:
Private hotel room or studio apartment provided throughout
Trial:
A 7-day paid trial is preferred. If the candidate is London-based, this will take place locally. For candidates based in Europe, travel can be arranged for a one-week trial. The client will be in London for two weeks from Friday.
Duties include:
Running errands and assisting with day-to-day organisation
Accompanying the client and/or her son as required
Providing company and light supervision for a 10-year-old child
Supporting with activities, outings, and general engagement
Managing drop-offs and pick-ups from day camp
Taking the child to sports or scheduled activities
Light housekeeping and simple cooking when in private residences (not required in all locations)
Offering overall flexible support to the household as needed
Hours: The role requires a high level of flexibility, as schedules and plans may change. Typically, there will be approximately two hours of free time daily, unless on full-day excursions or family activities.
Candidate requirements:
Non-Arabic speaker if preferred (so the child is forced to communicate in English) - fluent English speaker, with additional languages welcomed. The family would particularly value a nanny who can support the child’s exposure to and development of other languages within the home.
European or Eastern European background preferred
Confident, flexible, and discreet
Previous experience with UHNW families beneficial, though candidates without MENA household experience are preferred
Clean background check essential
Driving is an advantage but not essential
The client is open to reviewing suitable candidates upon return on Friday.
