A private family is seeking a highly experienced, warm and professional Governess for their well-educated 11-year-old daughter. The family is based in the beautiful Swiss countryside near Geneva, with international travel, including Hong Kong.

This is a temporary position, expected to repeat for a couple of weeks several times per year.

The girl speaks fluent English, French and Russian and is entering her teenage years. The family is looking for someone with a strong educational background and, importantly, a good understanding of child/adolescent psychology.

Responsibilities:

• Homework and educational support, including English
• Guidance with teenage behaviour and development
• Teaching and reinforcing good manners and etiquette
• Providing a kind but balanced approach – knowing when to be firm and when to be gentle
• Supporting daily routines and age-appropriate activities
• Occasional evening and overnight care, including periods when parents travel
• Light assistance with the child’s clothes and wardrobe
• Simple cooking when required
• Travelling with the family when possible

Candidate Requirements:

• Mature, highly experienced candidate
• Educational background and strong knowledge of child/adolescent psychology
• Warm, smiling, friendly and emotionally balanced personality
• Able to establish appropriate boundaries while building a positive relationship with the child
• European driving licence – car provided
• Non-smoker
• Discreet and highly respectful of the family’s privacy and home
• Neat, organised and respectful of household belongings
• Pet-friendly – the family has a small, friendly dog
• Nature-loving and comfortable living/working in the Swiss countryside
• Artistic skills are highly welcomed
• Flexible and comfortable with international travel

Working hours: approximately 6:00–9:00am and 3:00–11:00pm when required
Accommodation: Live-in or live-out can be considered
Location: Near Geneva, Switzerland + international travel
Position: Temporary/repeated throughout the year
Salary: Depending on experience
